Montgomeryshire Genealogical Society<\/strong><\/a><\/span>
\nThe Montgomeryshire Genealogical Society was founded in 1994 to provide a forum for people with family history interests in the historical county of Montgomeryshire and its borders.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Radnorshire Society<\/strong><\/a><\/span>
\nThe Society\u2019s archive contains a wide range of documents, most of which have been donated to the Society. They include the notebooks of some of the founder members of the Society, as well as manuscripts, wills, letters, press cuttings, photographs and scrapbook.<\/p>\n

Powysland Club<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/a>The Powysland Club is the historical society for the beautiful county of Montgomeryshire, and was founded in 1867<\/span><\/p>\n

National Organisations<\/strong><\/p>\n

Association of Family History Societies of Wales<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Association was formed in 1981 as a grouping of the Family History Societies which then existed within Wales. Its constitution states that its Aims and Objectives are:<\/p>\n

\u2022 to promote the study of family history and genealogy of Wales:
\n\u2022 to co-ordinate and support the activities of the Family History Societies in Wales;
\n\u2022 to promote and secure publication of material of particular interest and usefulness to family historians researching Welsh ancestry;
\n\u2022 to liaise with its affiliate members and other appropriate bodies in order to represent the interests and needs of its member societies.<\/p>\n

A fifth objective, underlying and supporting all of these, is to improve public access to the archival material in Wales, both at local and at national levels.<\/p>\n

Federation of Family History Societies<\/a><\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Federation of Family History Societies (FFHS) is an educational charity with over 160 member societies throughout the world. Most of them focus on a particular geographical area or on a specific surname but there are also a variety of other specialist organisations. National Library of Wales<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Library is situated in Aberystwyth<\/a>, on the Ceredigion coast, and must have one of the best views of any Library in the world, looking out over Cardigan Bay.<\/p>\n

The National Library purpose is to make our culture and heritage accessible to all to learn, research and enjoy.<\/p>\n

Powys Archives<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Powys Archives is located in Llandrindod Wells, and serves as the official repository for the records of the\u00a0county of Powys. Our collections date from the fourteenth century and can be used for all types of research.<\/p>\n
